This festive season, while the world celebrates Christmas in joyful and abundant ways, many of our special residents at Vita Nova Centre will remain with us, far from the warmth of family celebrations and the simple joys that many take for granted.
A few of our children are fortunate enough to spend Christmas with their parents — but for most, Vita Nova is their only home, and we are their only family.
These incredible children and adults aren’t asking for gifts, holidays, or toys. They’re not writing wish lists for Father Christmas, even though they’ve been so good all year. They’ve never seen the ocean, played with a Barbie doll or an action figure, ridden a bicycle, or tried on a new outfit bought just for them. They won’t be going on a holiday to the beach or the game reserve. There will be no trips to the mall, no wrapped presents under the tree.
All they’re hoping for is one thing:
A special Christmas Day lunch.
A hearty meal, a glass of juice, and the simple joy of ice cream for dessert — that’s all they ask. Something delicious to make them feel seen, valued, and loved on Christmas Day.
