Vita Nova Sensory Garden (Update)
16 January 2026
Our heartfelt thanks go to every individual from the Benoni Aurora Club, Round Table, Rotary E-Club of East Rand, Startime Players and the Rovers who gave their time, skills, and hearts to make this project possible. From the planning and designing to the painting and erecting of the outdoor sensory and play area at Vita Nova Centre, your dedication and generosity have been truly inspiring.
Although the rain prevented the project from being fully completed, the impact is already being felt. The residents are delighting in the stimulation and joy this space brings, and it is a beautiful reminder of how much difference compassion and teamwork can make. Thank you for helping create something so meaningful.

Help Us Build a Sensory Garden for the Residents of Vita Nova Centre!
https://web.facebook.com/vitanovacentre
Rotary East Rand e-Club has been approached by the Rovers (Adult Scouts) to partner on a special community service project this December!
Date: 14 December 2025
Location: Vita Nova Centre, Springs
On that morning, around 100 Rovers from Scouts South Africa National Rover Moot will come together to help install a sensory garden — a vibrant, interactive outdoor space designed to support the sensory needs of children and adults with severe disabilities.
Vita Nova Centre, established in 1977, is home to 114 residents aged 3 to 83 living with cerebral palsy, mental disabilities, and HIV/AIDS — many without family support. Creating this garden will not only fulfil a vital requirement from the Department of Mental Health and Education, but also give residents a place of joy, calm, and sensory exploration.
We need your help to make it happen!
Donations will go toward garden materials — plants, soil, pathways, sensory elements, and play equipment.
Donate here: contact Nikki at 079 493 7734 for further information about the project and donations.
Every contribution brings us one step closer to giving the Vita Nova residents the gift of a healing, sensory-rich space.
Thank you for helping us bring hope, colour, and life to our community!
